The current edition's (April - July) application season is now CLOSED
The Academy of Images and Letters offers opportunities for young, dedicated individuals aged 18 to 30 to develop their filmmaking skills. This program is structured for candidates who are passionate about their craft and keen to broaden their knowledge. Selection is based strictly on merit.
Applicants must compile the following materials into a single PDF, starting each item on a new page. Include links to samples of work that can be uploaded to YouTube (either unlisted or private) within this PDF:
A personal statement explaining the reasons for wanting to join the programme and detailing their intentions (up to 500 words).
Screenwriters must submit a treatment for their proposed first short script in the programme, which should be at least one page long. If available, they should also provide a draft of the screenplay, not exceeding 20 pages. Otherwise, just the treatment is sufficient.
Cinematographers are required to submit either a short sample of their work, a video of no more than 2 minutes, or a series of up to 20 photographs that tell a story or represent a theme of their choice.
Directors must submit a short scene or tape, no longer than 3 minutes, that demonstrates their directing ability. This can be something simple, and you're free to use your mobile phone.
A concise bio of up to 150 words.
A headshot photograph in jpg or pdf format.
